Last rites for Mrs. Herman Richmann, 79, Lowden, were held Sept. 4 in Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden, following a prayer service in the family home. Pallbearers were Edward Conrad, Raymond, Harold, Erwin and Eric Doermann and Orville Penningroth. Mrs. Carl Ruphrecht, Mrs. Henry Otte and Hilda Schloemer had charge of flowers. Burial was in the Van Horne cemetery south of Lowden.

Mrs. Richmann died suddenly Aug. 31 in her home, following a heart attack.

Sophia Doermann, daughter of Ernest and Wilhelmina Wicke Doermann, was born May 14, 1884 south of Lowden. She received her education in the rural schools.

She was married to Herman Richmann Feb. 2, 1909 and they farmed south of Lowden where Mr. Richmann died in 1942. She continued living on the farm with her sons until 1947, when she moved into Lowden.

She was a life member of Zion church and its Woman's fellowship.

Survivors are 5 sons, Wilson, Durant; Hubert, Bennett; Edgar, Wheatland; Ceylon, Denver, Colo., and Alvin, Des Moines; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Louise Penningroth, Wellman; and 2 brothers, Charles Doermann, Clarence and Ferd Doermann, Davenport.

Preceding her in death were her husband; 2 grandchildren; a sister and 2 brothers.
