Funeral services for Mrs. Herman Hintze, 86, were held Aug. 31 in Trinity Lutheran church, Lowden, with the Rev. T. J. Eickelberg officiating. The male choir sang, under the director of Mrs. Lorenz Hoffmeier. Pallbearers were Otto Stolte, Irwin Steinke, August Meyer, Herb Kruckenberg, Reuben Wenndt and Victor Mensing.

Mrs. Carl Anderson and Hiltrude Hintze, granddaughters, had charge of flowers. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Hintze died Aug. 29 in the home of her son, Herbert, in Newhall where she had been living for 5 years.

Doris Klipp, daughter of William and Katherine Steinke Klipp, was born April 11, 1877 in Estorf, Germany and came to the United States with her parents at the age of 5. She attended the church school and was married to Herman Hintze in Lowden April 23, 1903.

They farmed south of Lowden until 1916 when they moved into Lowden. Mr. Hintze died several years ago. Mrs. Hintze had been bedfast for 8 years.

She is survived by 3 sons, Herbert, Newhall, and Walter and Emil, Lowden; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Emma Schlueter, Lowden, and Bertha Klipp, Cedar Rapids.
