Funeral services for Walter C. Rohlf, 71, retired Cedar county farmer, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. Robert C. Ahrendt of Bennett in charge.

Pallbearers are Ferd Goettsch, Martin Juchter, John Mueller, Arthur Russ, Carl Hillman and Albert Loeffler. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riedesel Jr. are in charge of music and Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Wendt and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Proesch are in charge of flowers.

Mr. Rohlf died at Mercy hospital in Davenport Aug. 28. He suffered a stroke late Aug. 27 and was taken to the hospital at midnight.

The son of Chris and Caroline Schmidt Rohlf, he was born in Scott county near Eldridge Dec. 28, 1891 and was educated in the Bennett school. He was married to Edna Stoltenberg at Davenport March 2, 1915 at the English Lutheran church parsonage.

Mr. Rohlf had lived in Cedar county since 1900 and was a farmer most of his life. He was a charter member of the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Eugene, Bennett; 2 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Toms, Davenport.
