Funeral services for Sidney E. Sennett, 70, were held in Zion United Church of Christ May 20 with the Rev. Edwin Otte officiating. Burial was in the Lowden cemetery.

Casketbearers were Arnold Fox, Clyde Lange, Ray Licht, Leo Twachtmann, Edward Conrad and Arnold Koch.

The ladies quartet sang, accompanied by Mrs. Lane Strackbein.

Mr. Sennett died suddenly May 17 at his home in Lowden.

The son of Charles P. and Virginia Ackermann Sennett, he was born Aug. 15, 1892 in Toronto. At the age of 4 he moved with his parents to Missouri. He attended schools in Hale and Bolivar, Mo. In 1914 he returned to Toronto.

Dec. 22, 1914 he was married to Hedwig Meier of Lowden. They moved to Lowden in 1922.

Mr. Sennett purchased the Lowden News in 1927 and was publisher until 1949 when his son R. S. (Dick) Sennett took over, but Mr. Sennett continued to assist in the newspaper and with printing until the time of his death.

He served several terms on the Lowden town council and was active in the Conservation club for many years. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Emile (Hazel) Koranda, Oxford Junction; a son, R. S. (Dick) Sennett, Lowden; and 4 grandchildren.
