Mrs. Thyra Thompson, 82, a resident of West Branch most of her life, died suddenly at her home July 23 after a heart attack.

Funeral services were July 25 at Bethany Lutheran church in West Branch. The Rev. William Thalacker officiated. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born March 2, 1881, in Denmark, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chris Jensen. She came to the United States while a small child.

She was married to Jens Thompson Jan. 4, 1913, in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death in 1960.

Survivors include 3 sons, Donald, West Branch; Floyd, Iowa City, and Wilfred, West Liberty; one sister, Anna, living in Denmark; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
