August 1, 1963 - The Tipton Conservative

Last rites for Mary Ann Crispin, 51, were held July 19 at Fort Dodge with graveside services at Wilton Junction July 20.

Miss Crispin died as the result of injuries received in a fall from a second story porch of the apartment in which she and Louise Morden lived at Fort Dodge. The porch had a wooden railing and both were near the railing when it gave way and they fell to the ground.

Miss Crispin died as the result of a broken back. Miss Morden suffered extensive bruises.

She was born at Wilton Junction July 16, 1912. At the age of 16 she went to the Woodward state hospital and for a number of years helped care for those less fortunate than she, working as a patient-aide.

In 1956 she left Woodward and went to Fort Dodge where she cared for Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Smith as their housekeeper and nurse. She was employed as a nurse's aid at Ellen' nursing home after the death of the Smiths. She and Miss Morden, also a practical nurse, shared an apartment.

She is survived by 3 brothers, her twin, Charles, Louisville, Ky.; Gerald, Tipton; Lawrence, Kansas City, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Davis of Delmar.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian church at Fort Dodge, the Aurora Chapter of Eastern Star, No. 311 and the Fort Dodge chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was a frequent visitor in the Gerald Crispin home in Tipton.
