Funeral services were held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John United Church of Christ, Clarence for Harlan Pruess, 54, of Lowden. The Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiated. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was organist and hymns were sung by the church choir. Interment was in St. John Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lester Rowald, Herb Sander, Leroy Schneider, Edward Berry, Vernon Boyer and Fred Kahl. Mrs. Wilbert Wiebke and Mrs. Wm. Banks had charge of flowers.

Mr. Pruess died suddenly last Wednesday at his farm home south west of Lowden where he had resided the past 18 years.

The deceased was a son of the late Paul Pruess and his wife Helen, nee Bergmann. He was born October 5, 1915. He attended Clarence schools and was a member of St. John church.

He was married to Luella Smith of Clarence. One son was born to this union. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include his son Harlan, Jr., of Lowden; One granddaughter; and two brothers, Lelan and Leroy, both of Clarence.
