Funeral services were held Jan. 10 for Mrs. George Sheldon, 72, at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Lusher officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Howard Folk and Mrs. Berniece Lapp. Burial was in the Clarence cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons, Michael, Larry, Kenneth, Philip, Jon and Richard Sheldon. In charge of floral tributes were granddaughters Bonnie and Connie Sheldon and Crista Blake.

The former Nettie Henkes was born Sept. 17, 1897 at Delmar and was married to Mr. Sheldon at Rock Island on June 19, 1916. She died at her home Jan. 7. She was preceded in death by her husband and 1 daughter.

Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Richard (Shirley) Blake, DeWitt; and Mrs. Melvin (Donna) Clemmens, Clarence; sons, George, Cedar Rapids; Dale and Gilbert, Clarence; John, Edmonds, Wash.; Dean, Aurora, Colo.; and Donald, Tipton, 30 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and a sister, Helen Henkes, Clinton.
