Roy C. Greenwald, 74, a retired grocer, died at his home July 6 after a long illness. Born Feb. 22, 1889 in Monticello, he lived in Mechanicsville for 50 years.

Surviving are his wife, Neva Guthrie Greenwald, to whom he was married Oct. 6, 1912; a daughter, Mrs. Douglas Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Dick, of Solon; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Private services were held in Cedar Rapids at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial was in Rose Hill at Mechanicsville.
