Funeral services for Mrs. Sophia Galbraith, 89, were held June 29 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. James Elvig of Stanwood in charge. Services were also by the Helping Hand Rebekah lodge.

Pallbearers were Harold Wentzel, Harlan Butterbrodt, Ben Penningroth, Walter Eilers, Archibald Safley and Mearl Crist. Laura Geller was organist.

Mrs. Galbraith died in Tipton June 26 after an extended illness.

The daughter of John B. and Mary Bodatok Walenta, she was born in Czechoslovakia Dec. 9, 1873 and came to the United State as a child.

She was married to Samuel Galbraith in Tipton Jan. 13, 1892 and lived in the Tipton community for 69 years. She was a member of the Helping Hand Rebekah lodge of Tipton.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Mrs. Emma Irvin, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Edna Armstrong, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Lucy Safley, Tipton and a brother, Frank Walenta, Kearney, Nebr.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
