Funeral services for John L. Flenker, 75, were held June 4 at the Dye funeral home in Tipton with the Rev. Omar Pettersen of Bennett in charge. Burial was in Inland cemetery at Bennett.

Pallbearers were Walter H. Ahrens, Henry R. Juergens, Louis Cook, Hans Beeth and Albert Waller. The Rev. and Mrs. Pettersen were vocalists, with Mrs. Irma Crawford as organist.

Mr. Flenker died at his home in Tipton June 1 following an illness of several months.

The son of John and Minnie Telsrow Flenker, he was born Feb. 29, 1888 near New Liberty and was married to Katherine Schmidt in Lost Nation in 1915.

He farmed most of his life in the Dixon, New Liberty and Bennett areas, retiring and moving to Tipton in 1951.

He is survived by his wife; 2 sons, Melvin L., Davenport and Harlan, Wilton Junction; 4 daughters, Mrs. Forrest (LaVerne) Fogg, Tipton; Mrs. Virgil (Ethel Jean) Kuchel, Lost Nation; Mrs. Kenneth (Elaine) Kolwey, Walcott and Janice, at home; 15 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. William Ganzer and Mrs. Lillian Bonhoff, both of Davenport. He was preceded in death by a son and a granddaughter.
