22 January 1892 - The Clarence Sun

A telegram in yesterday's papers announce the suicide by asphyxiation in a Chicago hotel, of Albert Wingert, son of John Wingert, living near Bennett, this county.

29 January 1892 - The Clarence Sun

The funeral of Mr. Albert Wingert, whose death by asphyxiation in a hotel in Chicago we briefly noticed last week, occurred last Sunday at the York Prairie church, Rev. Dwyre preaching an eloquent sermon upon the uncertainty of life. The services were so largely attended that almost half of those present were unable to gain admission to the church. The story that it was a case of suicide was wholly false and death was evidently caused by ignorance of the result of blowing out the gas. Deceased was nineteen years old and his parents are almost broken down by the sad affliction this brought upon them, who have the sympathy of a wide circle of frineds.
