Mrs. Dorothea Schroeder, 85, died at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Harry Lange in Mt. Vernon June 2. Services were held at Mt. Vernon June 6 with burial in the Mechanicsville cemetery.

Mrs. Schroeder was born in Germany in 1877 and came to this country in 1908. She and her family lived in the Tipton, Mechanicsville and Iowa City area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris; 2 infant daughters; another daughter, Elsie and a son, Raymond. She is survived by 5 children, Rudolph, Hood River, Ore.; Mrs. William Siemsen, Ogalalla, Nebr.; Herman, Iowa City; Mrs. Gus Ohrt and Mrs. Russell Miller, both of Atalissa. There are 15 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.
