Funeral services were held April 8 in the Frick Funeral Home, Durant, for Louis A. Paustian, 77, who died April 5 in the Utopia Nursing home, Tipton, following an extended illness. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.

Mr. Paustian was born Feb. 3, 1886 in Muscatine county, the son of Tim and Catherine Paustian. He was married to Clara Miller Jan. 20, 1909 in Davenport. The couple farmed 4 1/2 miles southwest of Sunbury until retiring in 1940 when they moved to Durant.

Surviving are the wife; a son, Walter, Perrysburg, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Lenore) Helmold, Bennett; 2 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alma Petersen, DeWitt; and 2 brothers, Hugo, Bennett, and Victor, Fox Lake, Ill.
