Funeral services were held March 20 in Clarence for Oscar W. Hasse, 67, who died March 17 at Veterans hospital in Iowa City.

Oscar Wilde Hasse, son of John and Anna McQuiggin Hasse, was born May 14, 1895 at Elberon.

Mr. Hasse served in France during World War I and has been a member of Hegarty-Busching Post, American Legion, at Stanwood. He worked as a farm hand in the Elberon vicinity until he married Neva Belle Montgomery at Vinton, Dec. 23, 1925. He continued to work on the farm until August, 1944, when the family moved to Stanwood.

Surviving are his wife; 3 daughters, Leona Mae, Oskaloosa, Mrs. Emma Benter, Stanwood, and Mrs. Kenneth (Reta) Kembel, Clarence; and 2 sons, John, Stanwood, and Joe Leander, Cedar Rapids.

Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Vera Nicodemus, Port Orchard, Wash., and Mrs. Amelia Francisco, Shellsburg.
