Funeral services for Fred Goldsmith, 82, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, March 31 with Dr. C. W. Ebbert in charge. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.

Pallbearers were Melvin Clemmens, Freeman Frahm, Fred Evers, Robert Miller, Carl Krafock and Melvin Riedesel. The mixed quartet of the church sang with Antoninette Rix as organist. Mrs. Karl Schnipkoweit and Mrs. Carl Kruckenberg were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Goldsmith died at Clarence March 28.

The son of Henry and Marie Klefauth Goldsmith, he was born at Clarence Sept, 9, 1880. He attended the Clarence schools.

He was married to Emma Pruess Feb. 23, 1905. He farmed in the Clarence area until his retirement.

Mr. Goldsmith was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Mrs. John (Viola) Kreinbring, Mrs. Art (Wanda) Ibsen and a son, Herbert, all of Clarence. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Ibsen and 2 brothers, Henry and William, all of Clarence.

He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter.
