January 2, 1936 - The Lowden News

Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Stofflet and daughter, Jean, returned home Tuesday from Tipton where they had been called Thursday evening by the death of the former's mother, Mrs. Ed S. Stofflet, who died suddenly late that afternoon from cerebral hemorrhage.

The news of her death was a great shock to Dr. Stofflet, who with his family, had spent Christmas Day with his parents and had left his mother apparently in good health.

Funeral services were held in the M.E. church in Tipton Saturday, and on Sunday the body was taken to Newton, her birthplace and former home, where services where held in the M.E. church, and burial was made there.

Surviving are her husband and son, one granddaughter, Jean Stofflet, three brothers and two sisters.
