Mrs. Julius (Augusta) Miller, 81, died March 8 in Mercy hospital, Davenport, where she was taken March 5 after suffering a stroke in the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Swarms, Bettendorf, where she was visiting.

Funeral services were held March 11 in Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden, following a prayer service in the family home with the Rev. Edwin Otte officiating. Burial was in Lowden cemetery.

The former Augusta Endorf was born April 24, 1881 near Toronto, the daughter of the Fred and Alvina Klahn Endorfs. She received her education in the rural schools. June 2, 1902 she married Julius Miller of Lowden. They lived in Lowden where he ran a livery stable, then they moved to a farm west of Lowden for 6 years. They retired and moved into Lowden in 1916. Mr. Miller died in 1953.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and its Women's Guild.

Survivors are 2 daughters, Mrs. C. E. (Tillie) Stofflet, Lowden and Mrs. John (Julia) Swarms of Bettendorf, 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clara Riedesel, Clinton and 3 half brothers, Otto Schutt, Toronto; Herbert Schutt, Charlotte and Robert Schutt, Calamus.
