Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at the First Southern Baptist church in Pomona, Calif. for Emery Miles. The Rev. David L. Robinson was in charge of the service with entombment in the Pomona Mausoleum.

Emery Miles was born Oct. 12, 1878, on a farm northwest of Stanwood. He died Jan. 31 at his home in Pomona, Calif. at the age of 84. The Miles family lived in the Stanwood vicinity until 1937, when they moved to Chicago, Ill., and then part of the family moved to California.

He is survived by his wife Mary Blythe Miles of Hale, whom he married in 1900; also 4 sons, Nelson, Pomona, Harlan, Stanwood, Forest and Leonard, Morton's Grove, Ill., and 2 daughters, Mrs. August (Eva) Amend and Mrs. William (Dorothy) Brinkman, Tipton; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Capt. Loren Miles, who was killed in action in World War II.
