Last rites for Amos Porter (Pat) Reid, 90, retired Lowden barber, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Chapman funeral home in Clarence. Burial will be in the Lowden cemetery with Rose Croix services at the graveside.

Mr. Reid, one of the oldest resident of Cedar county and the son of Lowden pioneers, became seriously ill at his home in Lowden Jan. 13 and was brought to a Tipton nursing home. He died Jan. 21.

The son of James and Harriet Wiggins Reid, he was born March 12, 1872 in Lowden and was a life-long resident of that community. He was married to Lulu Joerger of Lowden Feb. 7, 1900.

Mr. Reid, who was a barber until he retired in 1955, was active in Lowden community affairs. He attended the former Lowden Methodist church and belonged to the Zeredetha A.F. & A.M. of Wheatland and the DeMolay Consistory of Clinton.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Lyle, Tipton, and 3 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
