Mrs. Nellie D. Pearson, 84, a resident of the West Branch area most of her life, died Jan. 13 in an Iowa City nursing home following an extended illness.

Funeral services were Jan. 16 at the West Branch Methodist church, the Rev. Charles Haigh officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

She was born June 25, 1878, in Cedar county, the daughter of Nathan and Martha Burnett. She was married to Charles W. Pearson Feb. 24, 1904, and they farmed in Cedar county.

Mrs. Pearson was a member of the West Branch Methodist church, W.S.C.S. of the Methodist church and was a charter member of the Centerdale Women's Club.

Surviving are a son, Melvin, West Branch; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her family of 8 children. Her husband preceded her in death in 1961.
