Fred Hans Jurgensen was born on August 30th, 1887, at Olin, Iowa to Hans and Whelimina Jurgensen and passed away on April 12, 1962 at the age of 74 years, 7 months and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Tessie Chase on December 1st, 1905 at Marion, Iowa to which union was born one child Norma, who is now Mrs. Lloyd Lathrop of Meredosia, Illinois.

Mr. Jurgensen was in the lumber and grain business in Olin for many years and twenty years ago moved to Clarence to manage the Clarence CoOp until his retirement.

He has been a member of the Methodist Church of Clarence since 1946.

He was a member of the Clarence Masonic Lodge No. 501, the Cedar Rapids Consistory, the Eagles Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star Hiawatha Chapter 394 of Olin, Iowa of which he was a 50 year member and Past Worthy Patron.

Mr. Jurgensen was a respected businessman with many friends and greatly loved by his family.

He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Lathrop; one granddaughter, Linda Lathrop, all of Meredosia, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Peck of Olin Iowa; four brothers, Max of Morley, August of Monticello, Louis of Cedar Rapids, Malcom of Oxford Junction.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one sister Minnie and two brothers, Eddie and John.

Funeral services were held at the Clarence Methodist Church with the Rev. E. G. Steinman in charge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 14th, 1962. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet with Philip Schilling the organist. In charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Ray Severin and Mrs. Willard Russell. The pallbearers were Willard Russell, Norbert Ebert, Harry Crist, Elwood Hasselbusch, Harold Muesing and Lester Kelly.

Interment was made in the Olin cemetery.
