18 January 1962 - The Clarence Sun

Wilhelm Horn, son of Karl Horn and Dorothea (nee) Berg, was born October 18, 1880 at Casendorf, Mecklenburg, Germany and passed away in Clarence on Friday, January 12, 1962, after having attained the age of 81 years, 2 months and 24 days.

Mr. Horn came to America with his parents as a small child.

Mr. Horn, who was a farmer for the most part of his life, was married to Meta Roennau at Clarence at the St. John's Evangelical parsonage by Rev. Emel Hansen on December 7th, 1909. To this union were born three children: Florence, Mrs. John Hunwardsen, Leona, Mrs. Herman Hunwardsen and Marvin, all of Clarence.

He is survived by his wife, his three children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a brother Charles Horn, and 5 sisters: Mrs. Minnie Dettmann, Mrs. Emma Kline, Mrs. Ida Debner and Mrs. Mada Von Muenster all of Clarence and Mrs. Velma Meier of Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bertha, Mrs. Otto Kahl.

Mr. Horn was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ of Clarence.

Funeral services were held at St. John's United Church of Christ at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, January 14, 1962 conducted by Dr. C. W. Ebbert. The music was furnished by a mixed quartet with Antoinette Rix as the organist. In charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Ernest Wulff and Mrs. Harlan Miles. The pallbearers were: Arnold Kahl, Lawrence Kline, Wilbur Debner, Robert Von Muenster, John Dettmann, William Von Muenster.

Interment was made in St. John's Cemetery.
