Albert Jacob, oldest son of Jess P. and Sarah (Kuhney) Rogers was born August 19, 1878 in Massillon Township, near Clarence, and passed away Wednesday, December 27, 1961 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 8 days.

Mr. Rogers was married on November 26, 1902 to Ann Lincker. To this union were born two children, Gladys (Resewehr) and Durant, both of Clarence.

His wife preceded him in death June 29, 1945.

He was for many years a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Dayton Valley.

He was a farmer in the Dayton Valley community and did a great deal of custom work in the surrounding communities.

Survivors are the son and daughter; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Shaffer of Springville, Iowa; and one brother Charles of Highmore, South Dakota. Also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 1961, with the Rev. G. M. Hubby of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids conducting the services. The music was furnished by St. John's Male Quartet with Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch as the organist. In charge of the floral tributes were Mrs. Ray Steege and Mrs. Harry Feddersen. The pallbearers were: George Ibsen, Robert Decker, Frank Decker, Ray Steege, Harry Feddersen and Elwood Kirkpatrick.

Interment was made at St. John's Cemetery east of Clarence.
