James G. Bell, 80, a native of Bennett, died Dec. 24 in Phillips, S.D. He went to South Dakota as a young man, homesteaded there and spent the rest of his life in the Phillips area.

He visited frequently in the home of his brother, Eddie Bell, in Bennett and Tipton.

He is survived by his wife, 3 daughters, a son, 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
