Funeral services for Tipton A. "Tip" Hill, 72, Wilton Junction, were held Nov. 10 at Wilton Junction. Hill hanged himself in the basement of his home at about 4 a.m. Nov. 7.
He had reportedly been in ill health for some time but was not under a doctor's care. He was found by his wife, the former Mildred Thurston, at about 6:30 a.m. Nov. 7.
She called Wilton Marshall Art F. W. Giese, who in turned called Sheriff Dick Oppelt and Dr. Orin Kiser, Muscatine county coroner.
Kiser ruled the death a suicide.
Mr. Hill is survived by his widow, 3 step-sons, one step-daughter, several nieces and nephews and a sister, Martha Fredrick, Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were conducted by the Rev. Paul Boaz with burial in Oakdale cemetery.
Mrs. Harry Birkhofer was organist. Flower attendants were Lucille Darting, Mildred Schroeder and Mary Hillyer.
Pallbearers were Richard Atwill, Duard Smull, Emil Schroeder, Sid Bullington, Rolland Abbott and John Wilson.
