Funeral services for Lettie Jane Straub, 81, were Oct. 18 at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home with the Rev. Omar Pettersen in charge. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were 6 grandsons, Lavelle and Ronald Martin, Dean and Don Culbertson and Marland and Richard Jordan. Mrs. Wendall Willer was vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. Irma Crawford. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Cline and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Cawiezell were in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Straub died Oct. 15 at University hospital in Iowa City after an illness of several years.

The daughter of Josia and Mary Ochiltree Whitmer, she was born May 2, 1880 in Cedar county. She was married to A. W. Straub Feb. 20 in Cedar county. Her husband died in 1948.

Mrs. Straub was a resident of the Tipton community all her life.

She is survived by a son, Elmer, Wilton Junction; 4 daughters, Mrs. Lillian Keffer, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Florence Nabholz, Shellsburg; Mrs. Vella Wayland, Galesburg, Ill. and Mrs. Elva Jordan, Tipton; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
