Funeral services were held at Lisbon Oct. 6 for Mrs. Henry Brown, 99, who died Oct. 4 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emily Kerslake.

The Rev. Ralph Schenk read the service, Leo Fredrick was soloist. Pallbearers were Roland Kerslake, Howard Kamberling, Robert Schroeder, Glenn Brown, Mason Stine and George Brown. Interment was in the Masonic cemetery at Tipton.

Elizabeth Ann Brown was born April 21, 1862 near Cedar Bluff. She was one of 12 children born to Daniel and Madelena Miller Ehrsman.

Sept. 20, 1881 she was married to Henry S. Brown. They started housekeeping in the Coon Creek neighborhood, where they lived for a number of years. To this union 3 children were born, Emily, Nellie and Charles.

In 1903 Mr. and Mrs. Brown took their infant nephew, William Henry Brown, son of William S. Brown to rear to manhood.

In 1912 Mr. and Mrs. Brown moved to Tipton to make their home. In 1921 they took their grandniece, Alice Brown, into their home. From the time they moved to Tipton she cared for many elderly people in her home until in 1948 when she sold her home at which time she lived for several years in the home of a nephew.

She has spent much of her remaining years in the home of her daughter, Emily, with frequent visits in the home of her son, Charles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1930, her daughter, Nellie, in 1933 and her nephew, William Henry Brown, about 2 years ago.

Survivors are her daughter, Emily, Lisbon; a son, Charlie, Stanwood, a brother, Charles Ehresman in California, 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
