Mrs. Elsie Turner, 54, of Adel, former West Branch resident died Sept. 23 in a Des Moines hospital after an extended illness.

She was born July 23, 1906, at Little Rock, Ark., the daughter of Joseph and Myrtle McNew Clemmet. She was married to Robert Turner March 19, 1922, at St. Louis, Mo.

She had lived in the West Branch area until 1958, when the family moved to Adel.

Mrs. Turner was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include the husband; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Small, West Branch; a son, Robert L. Turner, a student at Iowa State university at Ames; a brother, Carl Tidwell, Robinson, Ill.; and a granddaughter.

Mrs. Turner's parents, a brother and a twin brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Sept. 26 at West Branch with the Rev. Charles Haigh officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
