14 September 1961 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services for Harry Kinnan, 85, were held at the Sheets and Dahn Funeral home in Tipton Sept. 9, with the Rev. Omar Pettersen in charge. Burial was in Inland cemetery at Bennett.

Mr. Kinnan died Sept. 6 at University hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness. He had been in the hospital for one day.

The son of Oliver and Mary McGee Kinnan, he was born in Bennett Jan. 21, 1876. He was married to Mary Adelaine Knabel in Bennett April 11, 1898.

He spent his life as a farm worker in the Bennett and Tipton communities.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. O. H. Mathias, Lewistown, Mo.; 4 grandchildren, Cecil Mathias, Tipton; Mearl Mathias, Richland; Mary Marxen and Lorna Paulsen, Davenport; 14 grandchildren, 2 brothers, Charles Kinnan, Mt. Pleasant and William Kinnan, living in Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Oct. 30, 1946, 2 sisters and a brother.
