SVOBODA, WILBUR, LONGERBEAM

Funeral services for Charles Francis Svoboda, 43, were held Sunday at the Methodist church at Clarence. The Rev. E. G. Steinman was in charge. Burial was in Cedar Memorial at Cedar Rapids. Pallbearers were Otto Frey, Jack Leigh, Kenneth Frey, Roland Mingst, Milton Behrens and Clarence Mainor. Mrs. Robert Joslin was organist and Mrs. Otto Frey and Mrs. Roland Mingst were in charge of flowers.

Mr. Svoboda died in his sleep early Friday morning. He had suffered from a heart condition for many years, but had not been ill until the time of his death.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph O. Svoboda, he was born at Lisbon May 9, 1918 and was educated in the Mt. Vernon school. He was married to Phyllis Wilbur in the Presbyterian church at Missouri Valley. They moved to a farm south of Clarence in March, 1949.

He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters, Janet Lee and Mary Kay, his father, a sister, Mrs. Virgil Longerbeam, Marion; 2 brothers, Verne and Glen of Mechanicsville. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He was a member of Benjamin Franklin Lodge, A.F. and A. M. of Lisbon.
