Hans Sievers, 66, of Sunbury, died Aug. 10 at the Veteran's hospital, Iowa City, after a short illness.

Born Jan. 27, 1895, in Olin, he was the son of Claus and Maria Griebel Sievers.

Nov. 30, 1922, he married Emma Grell in Wyoming. Mr. Sievers was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of the Sunbury area. He was a member of the Wilton Junction Methodist church, the V.F.W., and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Emma, of Sunbury; 2 sons, Clark, Hileah, Fla., and Victor, Wilton Junction; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Kathleen) Myers, West Liberty; 5 brothers, William, Mechanicsville, Peter, Wyoming, Grover, Emmetsburg, Max, Mt. Union and Harry, Stanwood; a sister, Mrs. Anna Reside, Waterloo; and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were Aug. 12 at Wilton Junction, with the Rev. Robert Farr officiating. Burial was at the Durant cemetery.
