Funeral services for Mrs. W. Scott (Ethel) Lyle, 72, were held at the Sheets and Dahn funeral home July 18. The Rev. A. C. Long officiated. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery. Pallbearers were Ora Mayes, Henry Walters, Harold Eiler, Allan Farnum, Charles Gibbons and Earl Escher.

Mrs. Lyle died at her home in Tipton July 15. She has been in ill health for some time.

She was born in Menlo Sept. 15, 1888 and was married to W. Scott Lyle June 22, 1911. Her husband died Feb. 3, 1949.

Mrs. Lyle was a member of the Methodist church in Ames and, during her college years, was a soloist in the choir. She was a devout Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and her husband.

She is survived by a nephew, Wayne Cupps, Des Moines, 2 nieces, Mrs. Alice Freese, Indianola and Mrs. Charles Kern, Des Moines and 2 sisters-in-law, Edna and Vera Lyle, with whom she made her home for many years.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cupps, Des Moines; Mrs. Robert Matt and children, Carroll; Mrs. J. D. Piatt, Mrs. Ruby Brady and Ruth Piatt, Clinton and Mrs. Anna Budelier and Art Lyle, Clarence.
