Funeral services for Elmer R. Wagner, 60, were held July 4 at St. Mary's Catholic church in Mechanicsville, with the Rev. A. Gibbs in charge of the church services. The Rev. Edward Collins was in charge of the graveside services at the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Pallbearers were 6 nephews, Kenneth, Leslie and Richard Wagner, Paul Wiskus, Charles Winekauf and Fred Thurston.

Mr. Wagner died at Mercy hospital in Iowa City July 1.

The son of Wesley W. and Margaret Gaines Wagner, he was born at Lisbon Dec. 17, 1900. He was married to Rose Wiskus. He had been a farmer in Tipton, Mechanicsville and Stanwood communities.

He is survived by his wife, 4 sons, Donald, Atlantic; Charles, Mechanicsville; Darrell and Phillip, Stanwood; 3 daughters, Mrs. Fay (Alma) Unruh, Lisbon; Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Wendt, Stanwood; Louise, at home; 4 brothers, Albert and Everett, Stanwood; Floyd, Coon Rapids; Ernest, Tipton; 4 sisters, Mrs. Leona Thurston, Mrs. Grace Thurston, Mrs. Floyd Winekauf and Mrs. Eunice Wiskus, all of Tipton. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers.
