Mrs. May Mather Jones, 89, former Friends missionary to Cuba, died at the home of a son, Louis E. Jones, Lombard, Ill., May 13. She was the daughter of William and Elma Mather, who were pioneers in the Springdale community and lived their latter years in Tipton.

She married Sylvester Jones in 1900 and went soon after as pioneer missionaries to Cuba, where they started a number of schools and founded the Cuba Yearly Meeting of Friends. They moved to Chicago, Ill., in 1928 continuing a wide range of social and religious work.

Surviving are 3 sons, Robert C. Jones, Mexico City, Wilfred Jones, Glencoe, Ill., and Louis Jones, Lombard, Ill.

Her husband and her brother, Atty Carl Mather, preceded her in death. Memorial services are scheduled for June 3 in the 57th St. Friends meeting in Chicago, Ill.
