Peter H. Thompson, 81, of West Branch, died April 11 at Mercy hospital in Iowa City after a long illness. He was a retired carpenter.

Mr. Thompson was born Oct. 16, 1879, near Le Grand, the son of Helge and Malinda Heggem Thompson. He married Eunice A. Bowles at West Branch June 30, 1927. He spent most of his life in the LeGrand area, moving to West Branch in 1954.

Mr. Thompson was a member of the Conservative Friends Meeting.

Survivors include the widow and a daughter, Mrs. Elma Louise Johnson, Flint, Mich. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by a brother.

Funeral services were April 14 at the Conservative Friends Meeting house at West Branch, with burial in Hickory Grove cemetery.
