Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Anna Kleppe, 76, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Peace United Church of Christ in Bennett, with the Rev. Roy Stock in charge. Burial will be in Inland cemetery.

Six nephews, Harland and Herbert Rixe, Edward Kleppe Jr., Melvin Pruess, Carl Warren and Maynard Helmold will be pallbearers. Ernest and Ruth Riedesel will be vocalists and Mrs. Rhenie Lage and Mrs. Charles Moeller will be in charge of flowers.

Mrs. Kleppe died March 14 at University hospitals in Iowa City after a lingering illness.

Augusta Anna, the daughter of Fritz and Mary Dettman Rixe, was born in Springfield township April 12, 1884. She received her education in the rural schools. She was married to Charles Kleppe, who died in 1945.

Mrs. Kleppe was a lifelong resident of Cedar county and lived in the Bennett and Tipton areas. She was a member of United Church of Christ at Bennett.

She is survived by 6 daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Ella) Helmold and Mrs. John (Helen) Graham, Tipton; Mrs. William (Dorothy) Raap, Davenport; Mrs. Irene Hemerson, Bradgate; Mrs. Kenneth Schott, Coggon and Mrs. Arnold (Laverana) Raap, Wheatland; 5 sons, Harry, Sumner; Harold, Tipton; Norman, Davenport; Edward, Mechanicsville, Carl, New Liberty; a sister, Mrs. Martha Pruess, Stanwood; a brother, Hugo Rixe, Tipton; 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
