Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Young, 78, were held in the Dye Funeral Home March 13 with the Rev. A. C. Long in charge of the service. Laura Geller was organist and Mrs. Phyllis Willer, vocalist. George Langdon, Folmer Jensen, Frank Norris, Vincent Gough, James Casterline and Hermann Onken were casket bearers.

Mrs. Young had been in poor health for 9 months. She was hospitalized in August and again in October. She died of cancer, March 10, at the home of her granddaughter in Mt. Vernon.

Elizabeth F., eldest child of Wendell and Susan Schweitzberger Fell was born Dec. 30, 1882 near Tipton, where she grew up. She was married to Harry Harold Young in 1903. To this union ws born one child, a daughter, Ethel.

Mrs. Young lived in the Tipton community all her life except for a few years she lived in Canada, Minnesota, Waterloo and Cedar Rapids.

After her husband's death in 1939, she and her daughter moved back to Tipton where they lived until her daughter's death April 10, 1960. She then made her home with her only grandchild, Mrs. John E. Harden and family of Mt. Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter and 2 brothers, Wendell Jr. and George.

Surviving are her granddaughter, Ethel O. Harden; 2 great-grandchildren, Linda Suzanne and Edward Lee Harden of Mt. Vernon, 3 sisters, Mrs. Rose Miller of Peoria, Ill., and Hazel Ahrens of Davenport and Maude Beranek of Iowa City.
