Mrs. Pauline L. Kaufmann, 91, resident of Wilton Junction for 28 years, died at a Muscatine nursing home Jan. 13 at 12:05 a.m., after an extended illness.

Pauline Lily Reissen was born June 1, 1869, to Paul F. and Christine D. Riessen, pioneer farmers near Durant. May 24, 1888, at her parents home, she was united in marriage to Charles C. Kaufmann.

The couple farmed northwest of Wilton Junction until they retired in 1933, and moved to Wilton Junction. She was a member of the Wilton Methodist church and the Relief Corps and, when she was able, took an active part in these organizations.

She is survived by two sons, Tog O. J., with whom she made her home, and Joseph L. of Wilton Junction; 5 daughters, Mrs. Walter J. Meinert, Durant; Mrs. Ruth Boyer, Keokuk; Mrs. Forrest Frymoyer, Moscow; Mrs. Pauline O. F. Brace, Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Lydia Puls, Wilton Junction; two sisters, Mrs. Kate Ehle, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Martha Von Spiegel, San Francisco, Calif.; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1945, 2 sons, 2 daughters, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services were held in Wilton Junction Jan. 15. Burial was at the Oakdale cemetery, Wilton Junction.
