Charles H. Stuart, 71, Johnson county farmer died of a heart attack about midnight Dec. 3 at his home at the east edge of Iowa City on Highway 1.

Mr. Stuart was born June 27, 1889, in Nebraska, the son of Henry and Charlotte Spear Stuart and was reared in the West Branch community.

June 25, 1913, he married Clair Cowgill, and they farmed near Oasis until moving to the east edge of Iowa City in 1944. Mrs. Stuart died March 9, 1946.

Mr. Stuart was a member of the First Methodist church in Iowa City and the Iowa City Saddle club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Milver Hora, West Branch; a brother, Harold Stuart, Eugene, Ore; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Soesbe, Grinnell. A brother, Roy, also preceded him in death, May 18, 1960.

Funeral services were Dec. 6 in Iowa City with the Rev. L. L. Dunnington officiating. Burial was in the Oasis cemetery.
