Mary Annette Wells, 92, resident of Durant for 5 years died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. A. Miller Nov. 26 following an extended illness.

Born April 9, 1868 in Winterset to William and Jane Rhodes, she married William Butler Wells on Jan. 16, 1895. The couple resided at Colfax, where Mrs. Wells was a school teacher of primary grades for more than 20 years. Mr. Wells preceded her in death in 1922. She was a member of the Christian church, the P.E.O. Society and the Eastern Star, all of Colfax.

Survivors include one son, Paul, of Davenport, two daughters, Mrs. H. A. (Virginia) Miller, Durant and Mrs. Harold K. (Margaret) Near, Bozeman, Mont.; 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Warren Benge, Winterset.
