Mrs. Alma H. Schwien, 78, died early Oct. 30 at the Wilton Nursing home after a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of the Wilton Junction area, she was born April 12, 1882, in Cedar county, the daughter of Henry and Cecelia Goettsch Leth. She married Carl Schwien at Davenport Sept. 15, 1914. She was a member of Zion Lutheran church, Wilton Junction.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Edgar (Helen) Meyer, 2 sisters, Lillie Leth and Mrs. Tillie Thede, all of Wilton Junction; 3 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1956, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Funeral services for Mrs. Schwien were Nov. 2 at Wilton Junction with Rev. John B. Nieman officiating. Burial was in the Durant cemetery.
