Mrs. Emma Olsen, 76, a lifelong resident of Cedar county, died at Mercy hospital in Iowa City Oct. 4 after a brief illness.

She was born in Cedar county, Jan. 26, 1884, the daughter of Anton and Elsie Anderson Pedersen, and was married to Carl Olsen, Jan. 24, 1906, at Springdale.

Mrs. Olsen was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church at West Branch.

Survivors include her husband; 2 sons, Harry, West Branch, and Ernest, Aledo, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Lissa Sondergard, West Branch, and 2 brothers, Alfred and Anders Pedersen, both of West Branch. A daughter, 3 brothers and a sister preceded her in death.

Funeral services were Oct. 7 at the Bethany Lutheran church with the Rev. L. A. Kirkegaard officiating. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.
