Funeral services for George Dennis, 70, were held Oct. 5 at the Methodist church in Mechanicsville. Burial was in Cedar Memorial cemetery at Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Dennis was born May 29, 1890, the son of George and Elizabeth Dennis. He died suddenly Oct. 2.

He was a retired railroad employee, a veteran of World War I, a member of Busch-Dennis post of the American Legion and the Mechanicsville fire department.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George McCalley, Cedar Rapids and a son, Robert, Ames; 2 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Emma Finnegan, Cedar Rapids.
