21 July 1960 - The Tipton Conservative

Funeral services were held in Lisbon July 13 for C. C. Kerslake, 86, with the Rev. George Gallaher of Mechanicsville in charge. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery at Tipton.

Mrs. S. M. Franks and Mrs. H. W. Sizer were vocalists with Mrs. R. G. Oswald as organist. Pallbearers were Robert Dolan, Maurice and Dale Johnston, John Kohl and Claude and Guy Mitchell.

Mr. Kerslake died at his home in Lisbon July 11. He was born, the son of Richard and Mary Jane Morgan Kerslake, in Liverpool, England, March 5, 1874. He came to the United States when he was 4 with his parents and a brother, Sidney.

He was married to Emily Brown Oct. 4, 1911. They lived in Cedar and Linn county, coming to the Coon Creek neighborhood in 1932. He joined the Reformed church in Tipton when he was 30.

He is survived by 2 children, Mrs. Dorothy Gallmeyer and Roland Kerslake, both of Lisbon. Also surviving are 4 grandsons, Duane Gallmeyer, Allen, Gary and Craig Kerslake and a granddaughter, Karen Kerslake.
