Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Albert J. Mumm, 69, a resident of Durant for the past 46 years. Mr. Mumm died at Mercy hospital, Davenport, Oct. 13, following a brief illness.

Mr. Mumm was born Sept. 27, 1887, in Scott county. He married Margaret Richter June 26, 1915, in Davenport. The couple lived at Durant.

He operated the Durant hardware store with Herman Lamp until retiring in 1951. He was a member of the Durant Knights of Pythias lodge and was a past chancellor of this lodge with a record of 49 years as a member.

Surviving are the wife; a son, Capt. Fred E. Mumm, who is stationed in France, and two grandchildren.

Services were at St. Paul's Episcopal church, Durant, with burial at Durant cemetery.
