18 October 1956 - The Tipton Conservative

Mrs. Forest Chamberlain, a life-long resident of this area, died Friday at her home in Tipton after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Sunday in the Sheets & Dahn funeral home. The Rev. A. C. Long, the Rev. Raymon Ferguson and the Order of Eastern Star conducted the rites. Burial was in Oakdale cemetery at Wilton Junction.

Edna Luella Smith, daughter of James E. and Anna M. Smith, was born at Wilton Junction where she was graduated from high school. She attended Cornell college, completing the teacher's training course and taught in the schools of Lowden and Monticello. After her marriage she served as a substitute teacher in Waverly and Tipton.

April 10, 1917, she was married to Forest Chamberlain of Tipton.

Mrs. Chamberlain was a life-long member of the Methodist church at Wilton Junction and Tipton, serving as a Sunday school teacher and as a member of the W.S.C.S.

She was a charter member of the Tipton Federated Study club and served as president of the Garden club. She had served as secretary and worthy matron of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband and a sister, Estella Smith.
