Funeral services were held Sunday in the Sheets and Dahn funeral home for Sylvester Young, 71. Burial was in the Masonic cemetery.

Young died Thursday at Minneapolis, Minn. while attending a Watchtower assembly. He had been in ill health for two years. Death was due to a heart attack.

The youngest son of James and Mary Young, he was born in Mechanicsville Aug. 27, 1885. He attended the Mechanicsville school.

For many years a farmer, he worked at the Tipton Feed and Seed store for 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Martin J., Tipton; a daughter, Mrs. Garry Mattheissen, Viola and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers and a daughter.
