Mrs. Eliza Jane Henry, 93, of Long Beach, Calif., died Dec. 8 in a Long Beach hospital following several weeks illness. She was a former Lowden resident. Funeral services were held Dec. 11. Interment was in Sunnyside mausoleum, Long Beach.

Eliza Jane, daughter of Michael and Ellen Waters, was born Feb. 10, 1863, in Zanesville, Ohio, and came to Wheatland with her parents when a small child. She finished her high school education and attended a normal training school after which she taught in the Lowden-Wheatland vicinities.

She was married May 25, 1885, to William N. Henry of Lowden who operated a general store in Lowden and was also a prominent stock buyer in eastern Iowa. In 1905 the family moved to Mount Vernon. Mrs. Henry moved to Long Beach, Calif., in 1925 where she has since lived.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Ruby Pancratz, Grand Junction, Colo.; Mrs. Ray G. Newcomer, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Nella Henry, Long Beach, Calif.; one son, Ralph, Rock Island, Ill.; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Emma Fields of Phoenix, Ariz.
