Funeral services for Nels Skriver, 86, West Branch, were held Tuesday at the Anderson funeral home in West Branch. The Rev. D. D. Thogerson officiated. Burial was in the West Branch cemetery.

Mr. Skriver, who made his home with a nephew near West Branch, died in University hospital in Iowa City Saturday afternoon.

Mr. Skriver was one of eight children of Jens and Anna Christensen Skriver and was born in Denmark March 31, 1870. He was married there to Sedsil Ericson, and the couple came to this country shortly after the marriage.

They lived first in West Branch, and later moved to Wisconsin for 25 years. Mrs. Skriver died in 1929 and in 1934 Mr. Skriver returned to West Branch.

Since 1948 he had lived with his nephew, Jens Skriver.

Survivors include a stepson, Morton Skriver, of Newport, Ore., and several nieces and nephews.
